Kelly is a Licensed Professional Counselor with several years of experience providing individual therapy for children, teens, adults, and families. Kelly is passionate about creating a warm, empathetic, nonjudgmental environment which she believes is the groundwork for a positive therapeutic experience. This also allows individuals to be their authentic self in therapy. She uses an eclectic approach to therapy drawing primarily from strengths based, existential, and person centered frameworks.
Kelly believes that everyone has strengths and abilities that can be used to cope with difficult situations. Therapy is not one size fits all, and Kelly strongly believes in providing therapy that is specific to the individual’s needs. Additionally, she believes that the therapeutic process should be collaborative. She provides the individual with guidance and support but ultimately, individuals are the experts on their life. In therapy, she enjoys using creativity and humor as techniques. Her areas of specialty include life stressors and transitions, anxiety, and depression. She also has a special interest in providing therapy for BIPOC, Black women, young adults and couples.
